Belinda Mesecke
Belinda brings a calm, thoughtful approach to ballet teaching, shaped by many years of experience working with children and adults across the Western Cape.
Having run her own studio and taught in a variety of ballet settings, she has guided students through Royal Academy of Dance examinations, studio concerts, Eisteddfod work, and the American Academy of Ballet Performance Awards. This breadth of experience informs a teaching style that is structured, encouraging, and deeply mindful of how dancers develop over time.
Belinda’s classes are rooted in strong classical foundations, musicality, and correct technique, while allowing space for confidence, enjoyment, and individual pace. She is intentional about when to introduce exams and performance opportunities, believing that readiness- both physical and emotional- is essential for long- term growth.
Above all, Belinda believes that teaching ballet is not simply about steps, but about understanding people. Her aim is to create a studio environment where dancers feel supported, capable, and inspired to move well – without unnecessary pressure or comparison.
Whether working with children discovering ballet for the first time or adults returning to class, Belinda offers quality training grounded in experience, kindness, and respect for the art of ballet.
Belinda lives in the Cape Town suburb of Monte Vista with her husband, youngest son, a staffy and two cats. Her Mom in law lives in the Granny flat, and her oldest son is married and flown the coop, while her daughter in law attends ballet at the studio.
"I do Pilates with Belinda. I absolutely love the class and every week I am challenged with something new. Belinda is a very passionate and patient teacher. Be sure to join a class and give it a go." Caroline Maguire
